Knutsford Guardian: SWIMMING: Vikings raise profile SWIMMING: Vikings raise profile

SWIMMERS from Knutsford have improved their club’s reputation across the region thanks to their improved results in the pool, according to head coach Steve Parry.

He told the Guardian that more children than previously had asked to become a Viking following their showing in galas over the past few months.

“We’re building momentum and that’s improving our image,” he said.

“It’s no surprise we’re experiencing record levels of demand; although we’re a competitive club, there is a strong team ethic with a focus on fun.” Knutsford finished as runners-up to Trafford after four galas in the five-strong Peaks Plains League last season, topping the table in the Crusader League’s Division Three ahead of Halton, Buxton and Market Drayton.

In the National Arena League, Knutsford placed seventh overall of 18 teams in North West Division Two after winning the season’s final round at Leigh.

Parry added: “The results we’re seeing are testament to the hard work of the entire team. “
