Knutsford 3rd 3 Macclesfield 3rd 5
KNUTSFORD thirds’ fate remains in the balance after they lost at home to Macclesfield on Saturday.
A maximum points haul would have secured their place in North West Men’s League Division Seven South East for another season.
The Black Knights pulled level at 2-2 shortly after half time thanks to a fine run and finish from Jonny Jamison and a Sam Smith strike.
Substitute Dave Rees, returning from injury, stood strong on the back post before driving into the bottom corner after the visitors had again taken the lead.
Knutsford were on course to a point, only for Macclesfield to score twice late on.
They visit Crewe Vagrants thirds this Saturday.
