TEAMS from host club Mobberley filled three of the four semi finals places during Sunday’s Surridge Three Player knockout finals.

Mobberley B made theirs the trophy at the expense of clubmates Mobberley C after Bruce Tulley, plus a fightback from Steve Bond, left captain Tony Crompton with a 25-point head-start in the final frame.

Mobberley C were represented by Chris McNeil, Mike Roylance and Mike Gittins.

Brook Street and Mobberley D were the other teams to make the last four.

Champions Mobberley A protected their unbeaten record this season in the Knutsford and District Amateur League by beating their clubmates.

A 5-2 success against Mobberley B is their 17th in Division One this term, leaving them a huge 22 points clear at the table’s summit.

Wilmslow Cons A missed a chance to close the gap to second spot despite getting the better of Morley, leaving them eight points adrift of Mobberley B.

Wilmslow RBL were convincing 6-1 winners against neighbours Wilmslow Cons B, while Brook Street A piled on further woe for back-markers Mobberley C.

In Division Two, Shaw Heath B added to their advantage in first place following a 5-2 win at Wilmslow Cons C.

They lead Mere B, narrow victors by a single frame at home to Brook Street B, by 11 points.

Mere C surprised Mobberley E, taking three frames from their guests, while Royal London slipped to fourth position below conquerors Mere A after losing their head-to-head by the odd frame.
