KNUTSFORD will send a spy to watch opponents Cammell Laird reserves before next week’s Cheshire FA Amateur Cup quarter final.
Reds’ best recent run was to the last eight two years ago, but manager John Ferguson is confident his team can reach a later stage this time around.
He said: “I’m a great believer in the principle that what we do is most important rather than worrying how the other team will set up.
“I expect it to be tough, and they’ll be physical and likely older and more experienced.
“We’ll not change too much how we play, mind.”
Cammell Laird, sixth in the West Cheshire League’s top tier before the weekend’s matches, have lost half of their away games to date.
They did though defeat Cheshire League leaders Crewe in the previous round.
Knutsford eased through at the expense of Helsby.
