County final place up for grabs

KNUTSFORD rugby club’s under 12s will try to copy the achievement of their clubmates this weekend when they play for a place in a county final.

Blues’ youngsters host Anselmians in the Cheshire RFU Junior Plate last four on Saturday, when a reward for the victor is a head-to-head with Wilmslow, conquerors of Stockport, in the showpiece.

Knutsford under 14s are already through to the Cheshire RFU Bowl final, where they too will take on Anselmians.

There was no play for the seniors at the weekend, when a waterlogged pitch caused the postponement of their scheduled trip to Prenton.

They are instead due to resume in South Lancashire & Cheshire Division Three this Saturday, when Linley visit the Knutsford Academy.

Holmes Chapel entertain Liverpool University the same day, kick off 3pm.
