Rower finishes second to Olympians

A ROWER from Holmes Chapel was part of a GB Rowing junior composite that finished second at Saturday’s Women’s Eights Head of the River race.

Emily Ford, a student at Grange School in Northwich, joined other young internationals in a boat that trailed victors Imperial College – a crew that included six Olympians, including a gold medallist – by just 16 seconds.

More than 300 crews entered.
