PROMOTION hopefuls Knutsford suffered a rare defeat in the Warrington and District League this season, losing 20-11 against closest rivals Warrington Town thirds last week.
They remain favourites to finish first in Division One, closing their campaign against Knutsford seconds tonight, Wednesday.
The club’s second string ended a losing sequence in a 14-11 defeat of their Imagine8 counterparts, while the thirds proved too strong for Northwich Sapphires seconds at the level below.
They edged a close encounter 20-17 after coming from behind.
Meanwhile Knutsford’s fourths recorded a notable win against Beechwood thirds in Division Three, running out 19-7 victors.
They play Northwich Sapphires thirds in their final match of the winter season tonight, Wednesday.
