KNUTSFORD Tri Club’s Dave Clamp claimed the runner-up prize in his age class as the Manchester Area Cross Country League reached its conclusion on Sunday.
He placed second overall behind series champion Graham MacNeill (Wilmslow RC), who won four of the five races in the veteran men’s over 50s category.
Clamp was also first counter for Knutsford at a muddy Woodbank Park in Stockport, with clubmate Matthew Wackett close behind inside the top 50 finishers.
Knutsford’s men were 16th, with Andy Dines, Pete Openshaw, John Goggins and Paul Stubbs-Jeffries completing their line-up.
