KNUTSFORD’S ladies play one of their most important matches of the season so far in the Cheshire Hockey League this weekend.

They make the short trip to Northwich to play Winnington Park, one of only two teams they have beaten to date in Division One.

After losing 5-0 at home to Lymm on Saturday, Knutsford will want to return to winning ways against the section’s wooden spoonists.

However just three points, and a single position, separates the neighbours in the table.

The story is a happier one for Knutsford’s men, who are five points adrift of a promotion place in North West League Division Two after a 6-1 success against Springfields.

Unbeaten table-toppers Lancaster & Morecambe await the Black Knights this weekend though, push back 2pm.

Knutsford’s seconds, victors in their last match before Christmas, returned to the pitch with a 5-1 defeat at Deeside Ramblers fifths in Division Five South.

There was a defeat too for the club’s thirds, this time against their Sale counterparts in Division Eight South East.
