MOBBERLEY A made light work of opponents Brook Street when the Knutsford and District Amateur League season resumed this week.
The champions-elect extended their wins sequence to 15 matches following a 6-1 success, leaving them a huge 32 points clear at the Division One summit.
Clubmates Mobberley B closed to within five points of second-placed Wilmslow Cons A, on a bye week, after beating Shaw Heath A by the same score.
Morley proved too strong for rock-bottom Mere A, while Tatton’s win at Wilmslow Cons B nudged their victims down to seventh in the standings.
In Division Two, Knutsford Cons B – who sent out Mobberley A from the Team Knockout last week – could not repeat the trick after losing heavily to Wilmslow RBL.
Royal London edged Mobberley D by the odd frame, although Mobberley C were convincing winners in their double-pointer against Wilmslow Cons C to extend their lead at the top to 13 points. Shaw Heath B ceded three points to Knutsford Cons A, while Mere B earned bragging rights after beating Mere C.
Results, Division One: Brook Street 1 Mobberley A 6; Mobberley B 6 Shaw Heath A 1; Morley 6 Mere A 1; Wilmslow Cons B 2 Tatton 5. Division Two: Knutsford Cons B 1 Wilmslow RBL 6; Mobberley D 3 Royal London 4; Shaw Heath B 4 Knutsford Cons A 3; Wilmslow Cons C 1 Mobberley C 6.
