Denham continues to make mark

RISING star Georgina Denham will end the year ranked among the best in the region.

The Mobberley all-rounder finished third in the North West Junior Series’ girls’ TriStar 2 category for U13s, a class in which she competed against older rivals.

Her target is top spot next year.

Emily Barker (Wigan Tri) and Lauren Cooley (Tri Lakeland) finished ahead of The Ryley Girls and Boys Preparatory School pupil, who picked up her prized at the series’ annual awards ceremony.

Denham, aged 11, hopes to earn a place at the national championships in 2013, when she will be old enough to qualify for the first time.

“Ginny is delighted to have won bronze,” said mum Carrie Denham.

“She has had incredible support from her teachers, who have helped her to cope with a busy training schedule.”
