The 22-year-old is returning to play in the first XI next season and has been appointed as the club’s head of junior coaching.

Roberts, a Cheshire county wicket keeper and right-handed batsman throughout his developing years and in the Minor Counties Championship in 2010, spent five seasons with the club until the end of 2011.

All of Toft’s officers were re-elected at the recent annual meeting, meaning Nigel Muirhead remains as chairman, Pete Martin as head coach, Toby Drummond as club captain, Martin Roberts as secretary and Pete Watson as treasurer.
