KNUTSFORD will contest another county cup final after a thrilling semi finals success last Sunday.

The men’s first team reached the Cheshire Plate final, a competition they won in 2009, after a narrow 4-3 success at lower-ranked Sale.

Neston South Wirral, a side that plays two levels higher, await them.

The Black Knights appeared on course to cruise to the showpiece after first half goals from skipper Mat Hodge and Johnny Price, who bagged a brace, put the visitors in control.

When a Sale player then diverted the ball into his own net, Knutsford led 4-1.

They conceded twice after the interval to set up a nervy finale, but held on to clinch a date with North League Division Two West outfit Neston next March.
