TWO of Knutsford Sports' four teams in the North West Counties Squash League savoured success in the latest round of matches.

The Mereheath Lane club’s senior side seemed on course for victory after winning four of the first five sets against Club AZ in Division Three South East, only to lose the next seven in a 16-8 defeat.

Sports’ second string were emphatic winners at Prestbury fourths in the section below, winning all five head-to-heads to climb to third in the table.

John Evans, Tony Hindley, Steve O’Hare, Nigel Uttley and Simon Whitaker were on court.

Knutsford thirds are still searching for a first win after a 15-8 reverse against Prestbury, while Sports’ fourths ceded a single set to Macclesfield Leisure seconds in Division Five South.
