Linley 55
Knutsford 5
KNUTSFORD made changes, but the result was a familiar one as they lost at Linley.
Blues were weakened by withdrawals through injury on the morning of the contest, leaving skipper Howard Dunkerley with only 15 fit players to pick from.
They started well, but could not break through.
Linley led after exploiting a gap in the visitors’ defence, a series of unforced errors gifting the home team three further tries as they opened a sizeable advantage.
The pattern did not change in the second half, a breakaway try again halting Knutsford’s momentum after they had started with a renewed vigour.
Alex Malcolm touched down a consolation try, leaving his side to continue their search for a first win at home to Liverpool University this weekend, kick off 2.15pm.
