Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League round-up

MORLEY closed the gap to leaders Mobberley A, without a game, at the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League summit after the latest round of matches.

They whitewashed strugglers Shaw Heath A, the same margin of victory recorded by fourth-placed Mobberley B against Wilmslow Cons B.

Elsewhere Brook Street slid three places after losing to rock-bottom Mere A, while Wilmslow Cons A edged out Tatton by the odd frame in seven.

Mobberley C were winners in their top-of-the-table clash with Shaw Heath B in Division B, but Wilmslow RBL moved to within two points of the summit after thrashing Knutsford Cons A.

Mobberley D lost on aggregate to Knutsford Cons B, while Royal London won a close encounter with Mere B.

Meanwhile the league has confirmed this week that Wilmslow Cons C is to return to the competition next month, playing home matches on Tuesday evenings.

Week Eight, Division One: Brook Street 3 Mere A 4; Mobberley B 7 Wilmslow Cons B 0; Morley 7 Shaw Heath A 0; Wilmslow Cons A 4 Tatton 3. Division Two: Knutsford Cons A 1 Wilmslow RBL 6; Mere B 3 Royal London 4; Mobberley D 3 Knutsford Cons B 4; Shaw Heath B 2 Mobberley C 5.
