Ella Clarke chosen as Knutsford Royal May Queen

Ella Clarke, 12, of Grassfield Way, was chosen as Knutsford's Royal May Queen tonight.
She beat 11 other girls who had been hoping to be crowned queen on Saturday May 3.
But the news came as a bit of a shock to the schoolgirl.
I was just hoping I'd get a good part like one of the Court Ladies,' she said.
As the Knutsford Guardian went to press, friends were phoning Ella's mum and dad.
Dad's gone out and Mum's working,' she said.
It was the first time in about 20 years that the May Queen had been chosen in the first round of voting.
Also chosen last night were her Court Ladies - Olivia Millett, Hazel Redhead, Katie Smith and Jessica Dytham; Ladies-in-waiting - Zoe Sharples and Emily Bowcock; Maids of Honour - Melissa Sharpe, Rachael Cunliffe, Kelly-Marie Bagley, Sasha Carrillo, Sophie Strefford and Tolu Smith, and Maid Marian - Francesca Stocco.
Ella will be crowned by George Drury.
