The Knutsford Guardian has launched a campaign to help save the sight of little Shannon Boam.
She has a rare condition called Peters Plus Syndrome which has made her virtually blind.
Shannon has already had grafts on her corneas to help save some of her vision but she lost her right eye in August 2008 following an infection.
Her parents Simon and Julie, of Rensherds Place, High Legh, were then told the graft in her left eye had failed and doctors are now reluctant to try again in case she loses her sight altogether.
Shannon's best chance to be able to read and write one day now could be a pioneering surgery called keratoprosthesis.
But it can cost as much as £27,000 a day and could see the family-of-eight travelling abroad.
To organise an event to raise money for Shannon, email James Wilson or David Morgan.
