THE Oxford Mail has a feeling it will be returning to the topic of admissions at academy schools in the coming years.
As academies gain more confidence to make the full use of powers available to leaders, admissions will become a vexing question.
Two schools have already moved to introduce policies unfamiliar to council or Government-run admissions rules.
It is essential school consultations genuinely take the opinions of the community on board.
Academies have greater powers to make changes despite opposition – but their reputation may be damaged if these are steamrollered through.
