MANCHESTER High School for Girls’ Bursary Fund received a major boost as the school’s pupils, including Knutsford resident Caitlin Sweet, put on a glitzy fundraising DIVAS Fashion Show at the school.
The sold-out event has so far raised nearly £5,000 towards financial support for gifted girls whose financial background would otherwise prevent them from attending the school.
The star-studded show celebrated music and fashion, with performances from newly-signed artist Kieran Alleyne and American duo TylerNStevie.
Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer was in charge of the evening’s raffle and 60 students – including Caitlin, 17 – took to the catwalk alongside male models from local schools in front of an audience of more than 300.
Head teacher Claire Hewitt, said: “The girls put on another fantastic fashion show this year, and it was a delight to see everyone gather for this fun occasion and raise money for such an important cause.
“I should like to congratulate everyone involved for organising such a superb show and thank all our supporters of the Bursary Fund.”
