THIRTY-four Ramblers joined the coach for the short trip to the Derbyshire Dales. Rose Chisholm’s C group alighted at Brierlow Bar and walked through picturesque dales to pick up the Pennine Bridleway and Mid-Shires way to the Tissington Trail and on to Monyash completing 10 miles with 1,300ft of ascent.

The other groups began their walks in Monyash. David Eyes took the D group to Sheldon and the Magpie mine before returning along Lathkill Dale and the Limestone Way after seven miles. Steve Thomas shamelessly nicked a walk done by Ian Howard a few weeks ago taking the B group down Lathkill Dale to Over Haddon and then on to Alport and Youlgreave before returning along the Limestone Way completing 12 miles with 1800ft of ascent. Brian Holmes took the A group to Monsal Head then on the Bakewell.

They returned via Over Haddon and Lathkill Dale for a total of 15 miles with 1,900ft of ascent.

All groups were back early and after refreshment were able to make an early departure to get back in time for the Strictly Come Dancing results.
