PRESIDENT May Lawson opened May’s meeting which was attended by 30 members and a visitor, Paula Ashley.

The minutes of the last meeting were read, approved and signed. The correspondence included a thank you card from member Pat Obard for flowers received during her recent illness.

Volunteers were asked to bake cakes for the Cheshire Show. There were invitations from Over Peover and Boothsmere to attend their events later this month.

Ideas for future trips were put forward including a trip to Chester to visit the Archbishop's residence, and later in the year a 50s concert and luncheon also in Chester. A visit to the Lowry theatre and a trip to Bruges are also being discussed.

The exhibition at the Heritage Centre for the centenary of the WI later in the year will be covered by Crosstown WI for the week commencing August 25.

After refreshments the resolution was discussed to ‘Remove the distinction of nursing care and of personal care'. After a lengthy debate the delegate Cynthia Whitney, who will be attending the AGM, will convey our result to London.

The competition of a figurine was won by May Lawson, the raffle was drawn after which the meeting closed.
