Knutsford Floral Design Club by Win Ross
Chairman Julie Wade welcomed members and visitors to May’s meeting of the Knutsford Floral Design Club and thanked all those who had brought plants for the plant sale. She then introduced the demonstrators, Kate Russel and Patti Dawson of Wirral and Penrith. The demonstration was 'Ages of Women' and Kate and Patti were a hugely entertaining double act. They kept club members amused with poems, quotes and songs by such as Pam Ayres and Helen Rowland to illustrate how the lives of ordinary women had changed since the late 1800's to the present. While doing all this, they produced beautiful flower arrangements appropriate to their theme, for example, by using an ironing board as a stand for one arrangement and by creating a huge 1950's style bridal bouquet for another.
The vote of thanks was given by Sheila Bettridge.
