Jodrell Side is on schedule with banner and bunting for the centenary projects.
The afternoon’s speaker was the High Sherriff of Cheshire who gave a fascinating insight into the origins of the office going back to the eleventh century.
This month, the speaker’s topic was ‘Send Us Some Women’. Dianne Mannering gave an informative account of 18th century women prisoners who were transported to Australia.
The competition was won by Jacqui McConnell, raffle prizes were won by Pat Alston, Chris Cartwright, Pat Hurdle, Marion Taylor and Gina Houghton.
Jodrell Side team finished second in the County Quiz and are through to the semi final in April. Well done Diane Blake, Thelma Carter, Mary Phillips and Pat Alston.
Beginners crochet class was a great success and a second one is now in the diary. Preparations are well under way for The Cheshire Show and Rose Day.
A rail trip to Ludlow is scheduled for April 29. The plant was sent to Margaret Hopkins who will be missed at our future meetings.
