Knutsford and District Flower Club celebrated Christmas with a lunch for members and visitors on Wednesday, December 3, at Plumley Village Hall. The members’ competition title was “A Song for Christmas” and novice member Lorraine Dorsett claimed the hat trick by winning three prizes for her beautiful exhibit.
Lorraine came first in her class, was judged best in show and also won the “Members Choice”, whereby members and visitors vote for their favourite entry by placing coins in a dish.
Prizes awarded to other club members were as follows. Novices and New Members: 1. Lorraine Dorsett; 2. Jackie Page; 3. Felicia Dykstra. Intermediate: 1. Marilu Knowles; 2. Lillie Gradel. Advanced: 1. Julie Wade; 2. Marilyn Makepeace-Warne; 3. Win Ross. Premier: 1. Joan Wilkinson; 2. Brenda McNulty; 3. Gill Todd.
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2pm at Plumley Village Hall. Jackie Walker from Bury will be demonstrating, and her title will be “Structure with Style”. The members’ competition title is “Now for something different”. Visitors are very welcome at a charge of £6.
