High Legh WI President, Norma Wright welcomed visitor Irene Anderton and a prospective new member to a well attended AGM. Secretary, Pam Higham gave details of county quiz in February at Appleton and a team was chosen.
Marilyn Ridler announced her next trip to Whitby in 2015 for 5 days. Julia Wilkinson read a report from her visit to the PAL meeting on the discussion of the invasive plants that have been introduced to the countryside, and the damage they create in lakes and meres, and how we can control them.
The Group Carol Service is at Thelwall Parish Church. The rambling group are walking Lymm Dam and into Oughtrington, and finishing in Lymm. The darts team won their first match in the County competition against Higher Walton.
The evening finished on a high note as they sang Happy Birthday to member Vicky Braddock who celebrated her 90th on November 13, she is still a very active and bright lady.
The next meeting will be the Christmas celebration at Statham Lodge in December.
