SREEPUR Village in Bangladesh was the subject of Cranford Quilters recent meeting.

Guest speaker, Rubina Porter is about to embark on her 30th visit to Sreepur. The project is run by a British based charity and cares for destitute women and children.

It teaches them about health and gives them the skills and knowledge needed to lead independent lives. Rubina brought a selection of cards made from handmade paper and straw to sell, also beautiful scarves made from cotton and silk or cotton and jute, made by the people in Sreepur Village.

The next meeting will be at St Vincent’s RC Church, Knutsford, on October 27, at 7.30pm with refreshments beforehand.
