A FULL coach load of ramblers descended on Llandudno on what turned out to be a sunny but very windy day.

Mike Bromwich gifted his “A” group with an easy start by following the North Wales path along the sandy coastline.

The strenuous stuff came later when they headed inland and eventually climbed Mochdre, Bryn Euryn Fort and then back to the coast to climb Little Orme and finishing in Llandudno, having completed 15 miles and 2700ft of ascent.

Alan Milligan and his “B” group alighted at Rhos-on-Sea and had a pleasant stroll along the coast before the steady climb to ascend Little Orme.

Heading inland they proceeded to Deganwy where the tide was out presenting them with some firm sand along a windswept, sunny beach to reach the terraced path on the lower slopes of Great Orme and back to Llandudno, having completed 11 miles and 1400ft of ascent.

Judy Cross and her “C” group started on the sea front at Llandudno and headed through town to West Shore where they took the coastal path to Deganwy with a strong following wind.

Cutting across country they passed St David’s College before ascending Mynydd Pant. They returned to Llandudno along the North Wales Path having completed nine miles.

Brian Booth and his “C” group also headed to the West Shore and on to Deganwy before heading inland to Goddaeth Hall, then picking up the North Wales path back to Llandudno having done 7.5 miles.
