CHAIRMAN David Tricker welcomed 46 members, wives and guests to the Summer Ladies Lunch of the Plumley and District Probus Club. This year the event was held at Mere Court Hotel, Warrington Road.
A three course meal and coffee was enjoyed by all, which was followed by an opportunity to explore the gardens of the hotel on what was one of the nicest days of the year so far.
Plumley and District Probus Club meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Golden Pheasant Hotel, Plumley.
The meetings are informal, and members are entertained at each meeting by speakers who talk on a wide variety of subjects.
Active walking, bowls groups and days out are arranged periodically. The club currently has vacancies and will welcome applications from retired or semi-retired businessmen.
