CHAIRMAN Chris Williams, welcomed members and visitors to Goostrey Village Hall on a sunny afternoon recently and reminded members of the Flower Festival in Byley in September and the summer lunch in a member’s garden in August.
She congratulated Maureen Layzell, Dorothy Monks and Joan Wilkinson on their successes at the Cheshire Show. Tanis Richards was thanked for her beautiful foyer flowers.
Demonstrator, Denise Hubbard, a newly qualified Area demonstrator, entertained with her demonstration “Travellers’ Tales”, creating exhibits depicting her holidays in Kenya, Grenada, Cyprus, Norfolk, New York and her return home when she would reflect on the wonderful holiday she had just had.
The vote of thanks was given by Alison Rawlinson.
The next demonstration is on September 11, with National demonstrator “Flowers to Enjoy” by Tony Brown. There will also be a competition “In the Round”.
Visitors are always welcome to join them at Goostrey Village Hall, 2pm for 2.30pm, to watch the demonstration and have a cup of tea afterwards.
