Knutsford Guardian: Nicholas Briggs, from McLaren, in the new 570S, said interest had been strong in the new model

Boasting a 3.8litre, twin-turbo V8, it is capable of 562 horsepower and 0 to 60 in 3.2seconds.

"We always welcome someone in to the showroom to have a look or if they drive past, we answer their questions. We've got a strong relationship with McLaren and it's nice to be able to go and show off the new car before anyone else can."

The car was introduced at the 2015 New York Auto Show earlier this year and is made in Woking in Surrey.

It is being branded as the firms first 'Sport Series' of less-expensive models.

Built at the McLaren Technology Centre to the same exacting standards as the Super and Ultimate series models, according to McLaren, the Sports Series 'redefines what it means to drive a sports car'.

"The new car is much more fun and that is not taking anything away from the others in the range," Nicholas added.

"This car is about fun and being much more usable - the every day super car."
