KNUTSFORD’S newest pub opened its doors for the first time on Saturday.

Twenty One Bar and Grill, formerly the Lounge, on Princess Street, unveiled its refurbishment to Knutsfordians by staging a ‘soft opening’.

Heineken-owned Star Pubs and Bars has invested £197,000 in renovating the pub, with a further £40,000 being invested in fixtures and fittings by the new lessees of the pub, Jasper Perry and Adam Bartnik.

The front of house is managed by Philippa Tranter, formerly of the Bulls Head in Mobberley, while the kitchen is headed by Colin McKevitt, who comes from the Wizard in Alderley Edge and has been trained by some of the leading Michelin star chefs in the UK.

Philippa said: “The opening went really well. Everyone seems to know each other in Knutsford, it has a village atmosphere.”
