Vivien takes the plunge for her mayoral charities

KNUTSFORD’S mayor donned her swimming costume and swam underwater to raise money for charity.

Clr Vivien Davies took the plunge at Knutsford Leisure Centre on Saturday, September 29.

Centre manager Mike Harding organised for a lane to be roped off, and watched by pool attendant Antonio and his colleague, Clr Davies made three attempts to swim as far as possible underwater.

On the third attempt she almost completed the full length of the pool.

Clr Davies said: “People were very generous in sponsoring me.

“When I have collected all the money I hope the amount will come to just over £200, and I wholeheartedly thank everyone for their support.

“My charities are the Knutsford branch of the East Cheshire Hospice, the Royal British Legion and Knutsford May Day.

“Thank you again to all those involved.”
