Remember When: The town marked its May Day celebrations in the early 1900s
THE postcard above shows how Knutsford celebrated its famous May Day in the early 20th century.
Doreen Burgess, of Grassfield Way in Knutsford, had the card after it belonged to her great aunt.
The picture shows the 1914 procession heading down Manchester Road. On the back of the card Doreen’s great aunt had told her mother that she had got home safe.
