A KNUTSFORD primary school has been awarded the British Council’s International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.
The International School Award is a badge of honour for schools which do outstanding work in international education, such as through links with partner schools overseas.
Egerton Primary School has been recognised for its international work on a variety of countries and cultures, with many of its big projects carried out with its sister school, Egerton School in Kenya and its link school in Spain.
Annual visits to and from Kenya have taken place which has had a major impact on the knowledge and understanding of the children in both schools.
Alison Hooper, head teacher at Egerton Primary School, said: “We are all delighted to receive this recognition for our international work.
“The partnerships with Egerton in Kenya and San Fernando school in Spain make the children’s learning experiences real.”
