Safety plan for livestock
11:20am Wednesday 17th October 2012 in News
KNUTSFORD police will be attending the town’s Farmers’ Club meeting tomorrow, Thursday.
Officers will be speaking to farmers about their farm boundaries, particular those which run adjacent to a road where livestock can escape.
Police are seeking to create a mapping programme that will allow control room operators to access contact details of farms simply by clicking on an area of the map.
Jane Thirsk, of Knutsford Rural Watch, said: “This is all about reducing the number of loose livestock incidents the police go to and ensuring the farmer’s livestock is returned quickly and safely, reducing potential loss.”
