Children enjoy summer reading

RECORD numbers of children signed up for the summer reading challenge at Knutsford Library this year.

Almost 200 children read six books over the holidays – an increase of 20 per cent on the previous year.

During the summer holidays the children were entertained by Crazy Colin, took part in hair-raising science experiments and designed weird and wonderful plates to celebrate the Olympics, won by Jasper Hynds and Harmony Swift.

The children were presented with medals and certificates by Cheshire East councillors Olivia Hunter and Stewart Gardiner.
