Meeting set for Twemlow biogas protestors

A MEETING for people opposed to biogas plans for Twemlow will be held at Playing Field Pavilion in Goostrey on October 17.

Concerned residents and members of Twemlow and Goostrey (TAG) No To Waste Plant have lodged more than 450 objection letters to Cheshire East Council about the plans.

Farmer Ray Brown wants to create a green energy scheme by using a process called anaerobic digestion at the former Ministry of Defence depot in Twemlow Lane.

The meeting is in response to new period of consultation that has been opened before a decision is made on the project by the council.

Janet Capper, spokesman for TAG No To Waste Plant, said: “To explain the latest news and updates, we are inviting concerned residents and objectors to attend the above meeting.

“We have been doing a lot of work over the past few months and would like the opportunity to share with all concerned residents and objectors the latest news of the application and how it would affect us "We hope residents will come along, ask questions, share our research and their knowledge.”

The meeting starts at 7.30pm at the Playing Field Pavilion in Booth Bed Lane.
