KNUTSFORD police paid a visit to some of the area’s villages to try and advise motorists about their speeding.
Officers, along with Knutsford’s firefighters, visited Ashley and High Legh on Monday to take part in a ‘driver engagement’ day.
Five drivers were caught in the 40mph zone in West Lane, High Legh – one for no seat belt and four for speeding.
Recorded speeds for those caught ranged from 48mph to 52mph.
All opted to watch the DVD provided by the fire service rather than accepting a fixed penalty ticket.
The officers then moved on to Ashley at 10.45am for an hour and watched the speed limit on Ashley Road, outside the Greyhound pub.
Two drivers were caught and both watched the DVD.
PCSO Lyndsey Whitehead added the areas were targeted after complaints.
“Both were done because parish councils and local people have complained about speeding,” she said.

Why can't they do something important like assist GMP in finding the lowlife who damaged i_miss_that_shed's car.

However, it does seem that the police needed the assistance of the fire service in this operation. I believe this to be because of 1 of 2 reasons: -
1. Due to budget cuts, the fire service are the only emergency service to be allowed to purchase DVDs through procurement.
2. One of the fire fighters was the only known person to have bought a copy of 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the crystal skull' on DVD, a 120 minute punishment fit for anyone going 8 mph or above the speed limit.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is 122 minutes running time.
I am very suprised that AMcA hasn't already pointed this out as he is usally on the ball with such pointless pedantry.

Fortunately a local amateur league snooker player was able to oblige and lent them his £50 'special edition' copy (although the box was broken).

Secondly, aren't the angel cams being used for this sort of thing?
Thirdly, i have spoken to a regular at the Greyhound who confirmed the choice of DVDs were:
-Rory McGrath's Christmas goalkeeping Blunders IV
-The Best Of Carrot's Commercial breakdown
-Any film with Danny Dyer

I assume that this will be featured heavily on the next Crimewatch. Who will play you - i would like to suggest Colin Firth or Stephen Fry.
I probably won't watch it though as its on a Thursday and i'll be going to watch Newell & Bond play snooker and trying to persuade them to sign up for a new detective series that i'm hoping to sell to Channel 5 named 'Newell & Bond solve murders'.

This lack of attention to anal detail leads me to one conclusion: You are not Anal McAnal but an impostor who is trying to hijack the esteemed comments section of the Knutsford Guardian website for your own nefarious ends.
What have you done with the real Anal McAnal?

Although clearly their uses as a speeding deterrent is no doubt something in their favour
