Christmas Market to return to Knutsford
4:40pm Tuesday 9th October 2012 in News
FOR the third year running, Knutsford will see the increasingly popular Christmas Market return to Silk Mill Street.
This year festivities begin on November 30, with the market opening for business at 1pm and running until after the Christmas Lights switch on, at 10pm. On Saturday, December 1 the market will be open from 10am till 4pm, allowing happy Christmas shoppers to browse for gifts from the many crafts and artisan food stalls present and enjoy food and drink from a selection of options, including freshly made pizza, pies, hog roast and Thai.
As in 2011, the market will take place under cover, in two large marquees situated on Silk Mill Street. This year to add some all day fun to the festive weekend – which starts with the market and Christmas Lights Switch On and ends with the Crib Service – Knutsford Town Council are arranging for some children’s mini fairground rides to be situated outside the old Town Hall, at the end of Princess Street.
The market is being organised by volunteers Sarah Flannery and Kate Houghton, with help from Catherine Firth.
Kate said: “This year, as ever, Knutsford Town Council have been very supportive of our efforts to start the Christmas season on a high in Knutsford. “We are already seeing lots of bookings coming in from local craft and food producers. “Many are people coming back again after enjoying last year’s event so much.”
