Exhibition will be a Land Marks showcase for Lynne

A KNUTSFORD artist will be showcasing her felted textiles at the town’s heritage centre this month.

Lynne Stein will be showing Land Marks – a collection of hooked, stitched and felted textiles – until Saturday, October 27.

Lynne will be exhibiting a range of two and three-dimensional works, which are constructed by hand and machine-hooked, tufted and felting processes.

She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and abroad, her work is held in numerous public and private collections, and adorns public spaces, including civic buildings, restaurants, hospitals and children’s libraries.

Lynne said: “Living and working in the area for the past nine years, I am very happy to be showing my work locally at Knutsford Heritage Centre.”

Frequently running workshops in educational and healthcare settings and from her studio in Knutsford, Lynne has also been artist-in-residence in a range of settings, and has led many community art projects.

Her work has been featured in books and magazines, and on television and radio. Lynne is writing a book for Bloomsbury publishers, entitled Rag Rug creations: An exploration of colour and surface.

Some parts of the exhibition will be available to buy, from £10 to £250. This is part of a touring exhibition which has shown at Bankfield Museum, Halifax and Farfield Mill, Cumbria, where Lynne has been artist-in-residence.

She is also holding demonstration dates on Tuesday, October 9 and Saturday, October 13, between 11am and 4pm.

The public will have the opportunity to try rag rug and needle felting techniques.

Knutsford Heritage Centre is on King Street, Knutsford, next to the Courtyard Coffee House.
