A FORMER Knutsford Academy pupil has picked up a major town award.

David Jones, 18, won The Rotary Club of Knutsford’s Walter Johnson Memorial Award for the best student of the year.

David gave a talk on his activities, and was highly commended for his work in the community by the head of sixth form at Knutsford Academy, which put him forward for the award.

In the past year he has worked in the office of George Osborne, MP for Tatton, to complement his keen interest in politics.
