KNUTSFORD and District Lions Club has won a top community service award.

Many people will be aware that Knutsford Lions provide service in several ways to people in the local community.

These include Christmas Day lunches for those who would otherwise be alone, marshalling and mobility assistance at local events, running the annual street fair as well as the senior citizens’ variety show, and many others.

This year they have received the top prize out of 63 clubs in the north west.

By way of celebration an open evening has been arranged for Wednesday, October 10 at the Whipping Stocks Inn, Stocks Lane, in Over Peover, starting at 7.30pm.

Lions’ president Anita Goldman and all the Lions members welcome anyone who would like to find out more about the club, or how they might be able to help, to join them on this very special night.
