Security plea launched after rural burglaries

POLICE are urging rural residents to be on guard after noticing an increase in attempts to gain entry to properties in the Knutsford area.

These incidents have mainly occurred during the night, and entry has been attempted through ground floor windows which have been smashed or forced and some windows left insecure by occupants.

A police spokesman said: “Please make sure you step up your security and that outdoor lighting is activating, and report all suspicious activities to police.”
