THE first donkey foal to be born at Tatton Park has joined the Home Farm’s family.

Farm staff were delighted to find that 12-year-old donkey Seren had a new arrival after giving birth with no assistance.

The week-old jack is a particularly special addition for the farm after losing farm favourite Dotty last year at the age of 32.

It is hoped Tatton’s other donkey Frosty will provide Tatton with their second foal in the near future.

The foal, which has yet to be named, is already a bit of a character, running around the fields and introducing himself to visitors.

Lisa Kennedy, farm assistant, said: “We are over the moon with this delightful little donkey.

“He is adorable. Like his father he has the most gorgeous chocolate colouring and a quirky star marking on his forehead.

“His name is yet to be decided and we’ve had some great suggestions from our visitors.”

Visitors will be able to see Seren and her foal in their pen at the farm. Tatton Park first introduced rescue donkeys to Home Farm more than 25 years ago.
