KNUTSFORD Academy showed its pupils what it takes to succeed in the workplace at a careers fair.

More than 130 year 12 students at Knutsford Academy attended Friday’s fair, which was designed to support the launch of the Deloitte Employability Skills Qualification alongside their A-level and BTEC subjects.

Students were asked to think about the need for employability skills in an increasingly competitive job market and learn about the range of entry routes into employment such as university degrees and apprenticeships.

Gopal Mahadev, a leading NHS cancer and plastic surgeon, inspired the students with a talk about using their talents.

Michael Magnay, director of finance in the restructuring services at Deloitte’s Manchester office, explained the benefits and opportunities available from studying the Deloitte qualification.

The event was supported by international businesses such as Barclays, Deloitte and Manchester Airport and local businesses like Mosquito Digital.
