Have a say on plans for town

KNUTSFORDIANS are being urged to have their say on the recently released plan that plots the future of the town.

The blueprint for the future of Knutsford was released two week’s ago and includes plans to build more than 1,200 homes on green belt land in the town.

The Knutsford Local Plan has been created by Cheshire East Council with the aim of developing the town over the next 20 years.

It has been based on seven objectives – including economy, town centre development, housing, heritage and environment – and replaces the area plan that was created in 2004 by the former Macclesfield Borough Council authority.

The highlights of the strategy include plans to build between 460 and 1,280 homes on sites on the edge of town including land between Northwich Road and Tabley Road, south of Longridge and on land between Manchester Road and Mereheath Lane.

The consultation finishes on October 1.
