Staff’s charity skydive earns £2,200

STAFF from the Knutsford and Holmes Chapel offices of estate agent Gascoigne Halman participated in a skydive to raise more than £2,200 for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.
Tim Irlam, from the Knutsford office and Charlene Smith, from the Holmes Chapel office, took part in the skydive, which was part of the estate agent’s yearlong commitment to raise money for the charity, who support the work in treatment and research done by the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Seven staff members in total from across the estate agent’s south Manchester offices visited the Black Knights Parachute Centre in Lancashire to do the jump, which is one of a series of events organised in the firm’s year of fundraising.
Participants received a safety briefing before ascending to 14,000 feet in a light aircraft.
Despite some understandable nerves, all seven jumped successfully and were jubilant on arriving safely back on land after their tandem free-fall. Charlene said: “I was a bit nervous beforehand but it was an amazing experience and I’m really pleased to have taken part.
“We’ve raised money for a fantastic cause so it has been more than worth it.”
