Remaining households to receive payments ‘in a few weeks’

THE remaining households in Knutsford and Mobberley which have not yet received their compensation payouts from Manchester Airport will receive them in the next ‘couple of weeks’, according to the airport.

Manchester Airport Group agreed a £1 million compensation pot in June, and as a result almost 600 homeowners in the two areas are each to receive around £1,500 from the historic deal.

The claim forms which were sent out to the households are being processed in batches of 30 or 40 at a time.

However some of the claim forms have been returned to the residents because they are missing crucial information, for example bank details or signatures, and they will be processed once they have been returned.

A spokesman for the airport told the Guardian that the last couple of batches of compensation claim forms were now being processed.

“They should be done in the next couple of weeks,” he said.

“There were some problems to start with, but that has been resolved and the payments are proceeding how they should be.”
