PLUCKING someone safely from a crashed vehicle and performing a rescue from height were just some of the demonstrations at an action-packed open day at Knutsford Fire Station.

The station, in Mobberley Road, opened its doors to the public for the event on Saturday, August 18.

Station manager Steve Flanagan said: “It was a fantastic day. There was lots for people to see and do, and we were able to get a number of important safety messages out to visitors, which was the main aim of the day.”

A Walkers Crisps truck also attended to inform drivers about the blind spots that truck drivers could have, and Knutsford’s fire cadets, Cheshire Police and the Knutsford first responders were also there to speak to families.
